Both Thurston and Henderson were making their Eagles debuts. Thurston scored the club’s first goal of the game in the second period, while Henderson scored the team’s third goal in the third period.Braeden MacPhee, Jack Martin, and Mathieu Cataford replied with goals for the Mooseheads .Halifax opened the scoring near the midway point of the first period with MacPhee netting his second goal of the game at the 9:02 mark.
The Eagles took a 3-2 lead early in the third period with Henderson potting his first of the season, before Daigle made the score 4-2 with his second of the year. Cataford pulled the Mooseheads to one at 16:27 of the final frame on the power play, but Houde sealed the deal with an empty net goal on the power play with one second to play in regulation time.
