THUNDER BAY — Police in Thunder Bay say they searched a pair of homes Thursday morning and arrested and charged a Toronto man with drug trafficking.
According to a media release issued by Thunder Bay police, officers executed search warrants at a home on Limbrick Street and one on May Street Thursday morning. Police said they seized cocaine, crack cocaine and oxycodone with an estimated street value exceeding $62,000. Additionally, police said, they seized $10,000 in cash. The warrants, they said, were obtained as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
A 39 year-old Toronto man was charged with two counts of possession of cocaine with the purpose of trafficking, and one count each of possessing oxycodone with the purpose of trafficking, possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000 and obstructing police. The police media release said when officers were searching the Limbrick Street home, the accused was allegedly attempting to dispose of evidence.It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
