Vancouver police say the trio were part of an attempted blockade on the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge during the morning commute.
They were arrested “after they allegedly drove a car onto the bridge and attempted to lock themselves inside,” said VPD spokesman Sgt. Steve Addison in a statement. Kathleen Higgins, 28, William Winder, 69, and Deborah Tin Tun, 37, are charged with mischief. They have been released from custody after agreeing not to block traffic on any B.C. roadway.On Monday, blockades organized by the anti-logging group Save Old Growth blocked the Ironworkers bridge between Vancouver and the North Shore, as well as the Massey Tunnel in Richmond and the Pat Bay Highway on Vancouver Island.
