York Regional Police initiated Project Kona after responding to a residential break-in on Christmas Eve. The investigation revealed links to five additional break-ins dating back to September 2024. Police executed search warrants in Toronto and Vaughan, recovering stolen items, break-in tools, a firearm, and suspected Fentanyl. Ivane Zitanishvili, Zurab Sajaia, and David Sologashvili have been charged, while Paata Vasadze, identified as another suspect, has fled the country.

Three people are facing charges in connection with a string of break-and-enters across the Greater Toronto Area and York Region last year.said their investigation into the break-and-enters, dubbed Project Kona, started after they were called to a residential break-in in the area of Bluff and Skyline trails in King, Ont., at around 9:25 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
On Jan. 9, investigators executed four search warrants in Toronto and Vaughan where they recovered numerous items of evidentiary value, like jewellery, watches and valuables. They said they also seized break-and-enter tools, radio frequency jammers, a wireless signal, camera detector, a firearm and a quantity of, what they believe to be, Fentanyl.
Police said they arrested Ivane Zitanishvili, 42, Zurab Sajaia, 40, and David Sologashvili, 28, who are all facing numerous charges in connection with the robberies. They also identified another suspect as Paata Vasadze. Officers issued an arrest warrant for Vasadze, who they said has fled the country.Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7232, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
