A drive-by shooting in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, led to a police chase and shootout. Two suspects were arrested, but a third remains at large. The RCMP is asking the public for assistance in locating the remaining suspect.

Canadian authorities received a report of a drive-by shooting at a residential home in Dawson Creek , British Columbia, in the early hours of Friday, January 17th. RCMP officers responded to the scene in the 1100-block of 119 Avenue around 1 a.m. following reports of multiple gunshots fired at the house. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the initial shooting. According to the police, a suspect vehicle was observed fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.

Officers quickly located and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects opened fire on the officers. The RCMP officers then re-located the suspect vehicle unoccupied. A police service dog was deployed to assist in the search. Two suspects were subsequently apprehended and taken into custody. The investigation revealed that a third suspect managed to escape the scene in a dark-colored mid-2000s GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck. Police believe the vehicle sustained significant front-end damage after colliding with a police car while attempting to evade arrest. The remaining suspect is described as being five-foot-eight with a thin build, brown hair and eyes, a tattoo running down the right side of his neck and along his hairline, and a tunnel piercing in his ears. The RCMP is urging the public to exercise caution and not approach the suspect if encountered, instead advising them to immediately contact 911
