Five Terrace Bluebacks swimmers medaled at the swim meet

The Terrace Bluebacks had an impressive showing in the Northwest Regional Swimming Championship that took place from Jan 24-26 in Terrace.

"Our kids put so much time into swimming with the early morning and Saturday practices, so they are all pretty proud of their times because it is quite a high standard. You have to swim really fast," he added.Marie-Aude Chouinard won gold for girls 11 and under. Chouinard had four first-place finishes and three second-place finishes in the seven events she competed in, six of which she achieved best times for herself.

Reed Downs took home gold for boys 12-13, finishing first in all of his events for a perfect score. He also set a new divisional time for himself in the 800m freestyle of 10:56, 20 seconds better than his best time. Coming off a broken collar bone, Noah Grielens finished fourth among boys 14 and over. He also made the finals in all of his events.
