A 13-year-old boy who tragically died at Edmonton 's MacEwan LRT station was reportedly part of a group of youths involved in an attack on two adults. According to the Edmonton Police Service, the 13-year-old was one of four youths and an 18-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a 34-year-old male and a 32-year-old female on the downtown train platform. An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a stab wound, classifying the death as a homicide.

However, as of Friday afternoon, no murder or manslaughter charges had been formally laid.Police have apprehended three youths - a 15-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl, and a 14-year-old boy - and an 18-year-old man in connection with the incident. They are facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public. Initially, police reported the arrest of three youths and two adults at the scene on Thursday. However, as of Friday, the second adult has not been charged.
