A 15-year-old boy was killed and another pedestrian was injured in a van crash in South Frontenac Township, Ontario on Saturday afternoon. The driver, a 57-year-old male, was issued a three-day administrative driver's licence suspension for alcohol detection.

Ontario Provincial Police say the van driver involved in the collision that killed a teenager and injured another pedestrian in a rural area north of Kingston on Saturday afternoon is facing a three-day administrative driver's licence suspension. Police say the crash happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Rosedale Road in South Frontenac Township. An investigation found a full-size van struck a 15-year-old boy. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In an update Sunday morning, police said another pedestrian was also struck by the van. They were taken to hospital for minor injuries. The vehicle driver, a 57-year-old male from Harrowsmith, was located at the scene and spoke to investigators. Alcohol was detected by officers and breath testing was completed at the roadside. The driver registered in the warning range and received an administrative driver's licence suspension, for a three-day period. The vehicle was towed from the scene for further examination, police said in the update. Police have closed Rosedale Road between Alton Road East and Freeman Road. An investigation is expected to continue for several hours
