Seattle Fire Department (SFD) officials are currently investigating a report of a suspicious envelope that appeared at a Seward Park synagogue Friday afternoon.

A representative from the congregation shared with KOMO News reporter Hannah Knowles they received an envelope with documents inside inside and a white, crystal-like substance.
Everyone who touched the substance reportedly feels okay afterward, according to the congregation representative. Both Seattle police and fire officials were called to the scene of the synagogue, where they are continuing their investigation. Shortly after Knowles arrived at the scene, she learned that another synagogue located a few blocks from Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation also received an envelope containing similar documents and a white, powder-like substance.The congregation representative also noted tonight's service, which was scheduled to start around 5:30 p.m., will be relocated to a separate synagogue down the street.
