ContributedSUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Summerside Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival is making its return from Sept. 15-17 at the College of Piping Theatre.

The eighth annual event will feature six P.E.I. bands on its free opening night to kick off the event on Thursday, Sept. 15 with concerts running until 9:30 p.m. "We thought free admittance to the Thursday night concert would be a great way to show our appreciation to the local bluegrass fans who supported our Monday night fundraising concerts prior to the pandemic,” said festival chair John Campbell.The weekend will have back-to-back concerts, a Saturday morning workshop and after-hour jams held at the Quality Inn.

Bluegrass Tradition has been performing for more than 13 years and is dedicated to traditional bluegrass music. Trevor Boutillier and LeCoste are the founding members and are proud to have Andrew Kent and Ryan Dillman as the newest band members.
