Under the command of rookie driver Damian MacLellan, Bugsy Maguire left from Post 5 in the $3,200 featured pace and was parked out the first quarter set up by Screen Test in 27.2.DOWN THE BACKSTRETCH: A Kensington teenager's love helps orphan filly grow into a success story His Boy Elroy tried his luck first-over during the final lap but fell 1 1/2 lengths short to Bugsy Maguire in 1:55.2. Third went to Screen Test.Midnight MacNeill and driver Ken Murphy claimed the Bob MacInnis Memorial Pace in 1:59.3 for trainer Chris Davies and owners Gregory Kirby and Nathaniel Smith of Maine.
Watts, Summerside’s leading trainer, was also victorious with Rock The Baby in 1:58.2 in line to Dowling. Dowling had three wins on the day and now sits at 33 Summerside victories in 2022 – one win back of leading driver Murphy.
