The conclusions are based on investigators assessing whether or not current use of e-cigarettes and cannabis was associated with COVID-19 symptomatology, testing and diagnoses. To find out, they considered results from about 800 college students between the ages of 18 and 26 who attended four U.S. universities from October to December in 2020.Article content

Those students, however, were 3.53 times more likely to report COVID-19 symptoms than subjects who only used e-cigarettes. Specifically, concurrent users were 1.85 times more likely to report a COVID-19 diagnosis than exclusive e-cigarette users, while intermediate and frequent concurrent users were at increased odds of reporting a COVID-19 diagnosis.
