Some B.C. resorts are requiring guests to be vaccinated before they get on the mountain — or before they step foot at any resort facilities.

“The safety, health, and well-being of those who work at and visit Revelstoke Mountain Resort, remain our first and highest priority,” said the company Friday in a statement posted on its website. “The COVID-19 virus continues to be a risk, and we are committed to providing the safest environment possible.”

It said it will consider medical and religious exemptions if requests are received at least four weeks before the guest’s arrival date.Article content Masks will also be required when riding gondolas at the resort and employees will be required to wear face coverings indoors and when operating the gondolas, it said.

In the petition, Konig noted it is mandatory to be fully vaccinated before entering gyms and restaurants, “yet it’s not required to get into the tight, poorly ventilated space on a gondola, a ride that can take 25 minutes or longer.”
