A structure fire in the 5100 block of Compton Road in Port Alberni, British Columbia, led to the closure of a section of the road between Kitsukis and Indian Ave. The Port Alberni Fire Department, with assistance from other fire departments, successfully extinguished the fire, but Compton Road remains closed to traffic. The reopening time is currently unknown.

A structure fire has closed a portion of Compton Road according to the Port Alberni Fire Department who responded to the scene Saturday afternoon. At around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, the Port Alberni Fire Department with support from additional emergency services responded to the scene of a structure fire in the 5100 block of Compton Road.
PAFD say the structure fire has been knocked down, but Compton Road remains to closed to traffic at this time. Compton Road has been closed between Kitsukis and Indian Ave. PAFD did not say when it would re-open. In an online post, Port Alberni Fire stated “PAFD, BCVFD, SLVFD & CCVFD are on the scene of a structure fire in the 5100 block of Compton Road. The fire is knocked down at this time.
