Port Alberni creditors of The San Group hope they'll get paid and company might survive after The San Group files for creditor protection
Michael Ryles is one of several Alberni business owners owed money by San Group, which owns a local sawmill and recently filed for creditor protection.
Ryles is one of several Alberni business owners CHEK News spoke to Friday, with some saying they’re still owed tens of thousands of dollars. Ryles is sympathetic to the San Group and hopes it will find a way forward to help the Alberni Valley.“They employ a lot of people. They’ve invested $80 million. It’s a tough industry. Almost 100 per cent of their wood is outsourced from the valley.”
