Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement and wind warning for much of southern Ontario as strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop on Monday, bringing gusts of 70 to 90 km/hr. The agency warns of potential power outages, damage to buildings, and hazardous travel conditions.

“High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Power outages are also possible,” said Environment Canada. Travel is expected to be impacted in that area, especially along Highway 11, starting on Sunday night until Monday afternoon.
