With Christmas Day some eight months away the Breton Books publisher is already gathering inspirational, happy and sad stories from first time and established writers to publish in Cape Breton’s Christmas, Book 11.Over the past 10 years, previous editions of the new holiday tradition have seen hundreds of Christmas-related stories come in for an October publishing of a fresh collection of holiday stories.
“People who never thought of themselves as writers take time to remember and write their experiences of Christmas — searching for the tree and the delicious seasonal smell of their mother’s kitchen, and the year’s they were working far from home, missing the family at Christmas,” he wrote in a press release.
Breton Books is already gathering Christmas stories for Cape Breton’s Christmas, Book 11. - CONTRIBUTEDHe sends out messages and posters inviting submissions of holiday stories, believing that everyone has at least one good Christmas story.So far, the sale of the books has generated over $12,000 for Feed Nova Scotia as part of CBC Radio’s annual “Light Up A Life” program.“People who never thought of themselves as writers are suddenly first-time published authors.
