SYDNEY, N.S. – Cape Breton Eagles goaltender Jakub Milota will suit up for Czechia at the 2024 IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship in Espoo and Vantaa, Finland.

“It is a partnership with IIHF and the Canadian Hockey League where we had no choice but to let him go to his club in Czechia. It was tough…but he had no decision really…however we wish him the best of luck” said Eagles head coach Louis Robitaille in a release. The Lower Sackville, N.S., product has been practicing with the team’s taxi squad since the beginning of the second-round and was recently named the top goaltender at the under-18 major Atlantic championship earlier this month in Dartmouth.
