Justin Sourdif, who is the Vancouver Giants’ youngest player, is also one of the team’s best, having scored 23 regular-season goals.
SPOKANE, Wash. — On nights like Tuesday, it’s easy to wonder where Justin Sourdif’s game might be a year from now for the Vancouver Giants.
Vancouver carried a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 here Wednesday night, but Tuesday marked the Giants first loss in nine playoff games this spring and just the fourth time in their 13 post-season matchups in this run they had been outshot by an opponent. On Tuesday, Sourdif was reunited with Roman and Watts for an extended run for the first time since that opener against Seattle.7:30 p.m., Langley Events Centre, Radio: Sportsnet 650 AM
The Giants have only had four first-round NHL draft selections in their 18 years: Mark Fistric , Gilbert Brule , Jon Blum and Evander Kane . “Why is he so effective at this age? I think part of it is that he doesn’t know any different. He just doesn’t. This is what he’s used to. If a kid can have that trait, it’s incredibly advantageous. Bowen has that. He had it last year.”
