An Australian state with one of the highest vaccination rates and no cases of Covid-19 has announced a lockdown plan.
Peter Gutwein said he was not declaring a lockdown at Friday’s morning announcement, instead providing Tasmanians with a plan if a Covid-19 situation was to suddenly escalate.
Mr Gutwein said depending on the type of outbreak, officials would base the rules on the public health advice at the time. “Whether it’s applied to the whole state, or to a regional area will depend on the circumstances of the incursion and the advice of public health,” Mr Gutwein said.
