Captain Pike and the Enterprise are back for new adventures across the galaxy on the official poster for Paramount+'s StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds, which debuts on May 5.
The Enterprise is at the brink of a new frontier - and a new planet - in the first poster for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. After much anticipation, Paramount+'s third live-action Star Trek show is set to premiere in just a few months. Strange New Worlds was officially announced to be in the works in May 2020, with filming taking place last year.
Debuting on Paramount+ this May, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will find the current crew of the Enterprise, led by Pike, as they embark on missions set in new worlds across the galaxy. The series is being positioned as a prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series and is therefore set 10 years before that begins. Nevertheless, it contains connections to the flagship show even beyond Spock and the Enterprise; Strange New Worlds will also feature a younger Nyota Uhura .
In many ways, this poster connects Strange New Worlds to the original Star Trek. From the familiar font to the enticing tagline -"The frontier is waiting" - it's clear Strange New Worlds owes a lot to TOS. For the fans who have grown a bit wary of Paramount+'s more modern takes on the world of Star Trek, it sounds like this show will be a breath of fresh air.
By the time Strange New Worlds premieres in May, fans will have been waiting to see this show for two years . So far, Paramount+ has kept its contents carefully under wraps, but now the streamer is starting to pull back the curtain. This new poster confirms classic, adventure-minded Star Trek is coming back in a major way, and it elicits plenty of excitement for what's ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as Strange New Worlds draws ever closer.
