Speaker Anthony Rota took full responsibility for inviting a former Nazi to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy\u0027s speech in Parliament.
Rota apologized over the weekend and again on Monday as Parliament resumed, saying he was alone in making the decision to invite Hunka and to recognize him in Parliament.
During routine House of Commons proceedings anyone can walk into the gallery and view debates or question period. Rota insisted that he had made the decision to invite Hunka to his gallery seat without any consultation with the government. Rota’s office didn’t respond to an inquiry about how exactly Hunka came to the attention of the Speaker or what steps were taken to review his past.Article content
