Southwest Airlines' ground workers have ratified a new contract.
Transport Workers Union Local 555 said its members haven’t received a raise in almost three years.According to Transport Workers Union Local 555, the union that represents nearly 18,000 ground workers at Southwest overwhelmingly approved the contract.The union said its workers haven’t received a pay increase in almost three years and the contract would set a wage rate of $38 an hour for top-of-scale employees, which is 6.6% above United Airlines’ wage rate for these workers at $35.65.
