The Thunderbirds dominated the first period, scoring three unanswered goals. Jonathan Sonedecker opened the scoring with his 15th goal of the season, followed by Callum McAuley's 11th. Sonedecker added another goal late in the period, giving the T-Birds a commanding 3-0 lead.
The Beavers fought back in the second period, with Owen King converting on the power play to put Blind River on the scoreboard. Jonah McIndoo further narrowed the gap in the third period, scoring at 3:49 to make it 3-2. The Beavers continued their relentless pressure and tied the game with A.J.
