Espanola Paper Kings goaltender James Meredith recorded his second shutout of the season, stopping all 30 shots he faced in a 2-0 road victory against the Soo Thunderbirds on Sunday afternoon. The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League matchup took place at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. Neither team managed to score in the first period, but Espanola broke the deadlock in the second with a power-play goal from Jack Anderson, assisted by Graydon Guthrie.
Lucas Dubois added an empty-net goal in the final minute to secure the win for Espanola. With the victory, Espanola improves to 10-18-2-1, while the Soo falls to 13-17-1-2
