This year's ski and snowboard season in the Rockies officially kicked off on Nov. 5, with the opening of the Lake Louise Ski Resort.

The winter ski season officially kicked off on Tuesday with the opening of several runs at Lake Louise.The early arrival of winter is good news for Alberta’s tourism industry.

“Air temperature is key to snow making. We need below 3 or 4 C,” said Mosteller, explaining the ski hills have been able to make snow both day and night.
