Joel Bernard, transportation supervisor for the La Commission scolaire de langue française, told SaltWire on April 18 that, depending on the circumstances, it has been unable to find fill-in people to drive the buses.
On the morning of April 18, a notice went out on the radio that one school bus would not be able to transport children to École François-Buote.“It was a situation where we gave the parents some notice. It was something that we have been working on for a couple of days, and we were unable to find a spare . Parents had been notified beforehand, and anyone that did need transportation, we did send another bus out to pick them up.
