A new poll from Mainstreet Research suggests Green Leader Mike Schreiner could give the Ontario Liberals a slight edge in a hypothetical election campaign.
Teams for OLP leadership hopefuls coming together
"All potential leadership candidates with the Liberals outperformed Marit Stiles and the NDP," she said. "That's a clear path for Ontario Liberals to win the progressive primary. It's an indicator that regardless of leader, it seems that the Ontario Liberal brand is still strong among voters." Schreiner and the Greens' apparatus boosted Richter hard during the campaign. As part of our election coverage this spring, asked each party leader to write an op-ed explaining why they're the best choice. Every leader did so, save for Schreiner, who passed the task to Richter.Schreiner would bring more regional strength than the other potential Liberal leadership candidates, almost across the province, the poll shows.
The poll shows the PCs getting 37 per cent of the vote, followed by 23 per cent for the Liberals, 19 per cent for the NDP, 11 per cent for the Greens, and nine per cent for other parties. Undecided voters were taken out of these results.
