A 55-year-old man is being sought in the April 7 collision on Ocala Avenue; his pickup truck has been recovered by police.

It was not immediately clear how fast the pickup driver was traveling. The collision occurred in front of a middle-school campus and on a street that has a posted speed limit of 35 mph, or 25 mph when children are present. A composite of photos released by San Jose police show a driver and pickup truck suspected of hitting and killing two women crossing the street on Ocala Avenue the evening of April 7, 2022. The driver fled the scene.
