When the Ottawa Redblacks talk about Saturday’s home game against the Toronto Argos, you won’t hear the words “do or die” or must win.

Hamilton plays in Montreal this week. A Ticats win would give them five on the season and put them in a tie for second. An Als win would give them six, three clear of the Redblacks. It’s not a given a crossover team from the West will occupy the third and final East playoff spot . With six wins, the Riders have four tough games remaining – two against Calgary and one against each of Winnipeg and Hamilton.

The ongoing CFL Simulation gives the Redblacks a 17.71 per cent chance of making the playoffs . Ottawa’s odds of appearing in the Grey Cup are listed at 0.99 per cent . Odds to win the Grey Cup for Ottawa: 0.29 per cent. But hey, even the Simulation still gives them a chance. The Redblacks need to bounce back from a 24-19 loss to Toronto at TD Place Sept. 10. Before that, they had some momentum with two straight wins. And, they beat the Argos 23-13 in Toronto July 31.
