That Harris practiced in pads Wednesday was a step in the right direction for the rookie and his status for Sunday’s game against Cleveland. “Whenever you can’t finish a game, there’s some concern, but we’re hoping he’s going to be OK,” Texans coach Lovie Smith said. “His growth – he needs to continue to play. He’s missed a lot of time. Right when he’s taken steps up, he starts missing time, that doesn’t help the case. Hopefully he’ll be ready to go.”
Harris missed all of training camp, the preseason and the first six games of the season with a hamstring injury.While Harris practiced, rookie cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. did not practice as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury. Smith said Stingley is getting better, but he also said that last week.
