The highway between eastern Vancouver Island and the west coast communities of Port Alberni, Tofino and Ucluelet was closed on June 6 because of aIt opened to single-lane, alternating traffic on June 23, but a geotechnical assessment has determined the slope above the highway needs to be stabilized before both lanes can reopen.
“This work is critical in ensuring the long-term safety of the corridor,” said the Ministry of Transportation in an update on the work Tuesday. Wildfire tree fall on B.C.
