SaltWire's Atlantic regional weather forecast for October 6, 2023 | SaltWireST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Two men and two women were arrested and charged with assault charges after a bar fight on George Street in the early hours of Oct. 6.
Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were called to reports of a fight in progress at an undisclosed watering hole around 2:24 a.m., after last call, but just before patrons are expected to move on for the night. Upon arrival, police found an injured man whom several witnesses claimed was assaulted by a group of people. Not long after, RNC officers arrested a quartet of 20-somethings — two men, both aged 24, and two women, ages 21 and 22 — charging all four with assault causing bodily harm.
The 22-year-old woman was additionally charged with assaulting a peace officer, obstruction, resisting arrest and causing a disturbance.All four suspects were held in police custody and were scheduled for court early morning on Oct. 6.
