While the league is unlikely to accept this proposal, it’s close enough for optimism there will be a season — whether it’s via a deal or MLB setting a shorter schedule.The latest proposal by the union follows reports of MLB offering a 60-game season with full prorated salaries and expanded playoffs to the players on Wednesday.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred also confirmed that he and MLBPA executive director Tony Clark held a meeting where they created the framework for a deal.MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement . “We left that meeting with a jointly developed framework that we agreed could form the basis of an agreement and subject to conversations with our respective constituents. I summarized that framework numerous times in the meeting and sent Tony a written summary today."
