The province of B.C. is doing a test of its wireless alert system at 1:55 p.m. PDT on May 4, part of a national system designed to warn the public about emergencies.system in B.C. to go beyond tsunami warnings and Amber Alerts. It is now intended to warn the public of other threats such as wildfires and floods.
Emergency alerts are also handled by Emergency Management B.C., but the phone and broadcast alerts are designed to complement them due to their wider reach.Article content
