TRINITY, N.L. — RCMP in Newfoundland and Labrador are encouraging parents to remind their children of the dangers of unsupervised off-road vehicle driving. The warning comes after two children were injured in separate collisions in the past week.
Trinity-Conception RCMP said officers were called to a crash after a 12-year-old unsupervised dirt bike driver was hospitalized after crashing into an ATV.In another incident, a 14-year-old unsupervised ATV driver was injured after losing control of their vehicle. Children under 16 must be supervised while operating an off-road vehicle. If they aren't, parents or guardians can be charged under the Off-Road Vehicles Act.
