Following recent investigations into property crimes in Bonavista, 43-year-old Christopher Delaney of Bonavista was arrested on Oct. 9 by Bonavista RCMP. On Oct. 2, police received a report of a break, enter and theft at an Ultramar gas station on Confederation Drive.

Following recent investigations into property crimes in Bonavista, 43-year-old Christopher Delaney of Bonavista was arrested on Oct. 9 by Bonavista RCMP.

On Oct. 2, police received a report of a break, enter and theft at an Ultramar gas station on Confederation Drive. The suspect forced entry into the store and allegedly stole a quantity of cigarettes from inside. On the evening of Sept. 29, Bonavista RCMP received a report of an attempted residential break and enter on Sweeney’s Lane that occurred while the home owner was away from the property. The suspect tried to gain access to the residence but was startled by a neighbour.

A short time later that same evening, Bonavista RCMP received a report of a possible break and enter at the Irving gas station on Confederation Drive. The suspect forced entry into the business and stole a quantity of cigarettes, beer and lottery tickets. Delaney was remanded in custody over the weekend and is charged with the following criminal offences:Mischief Under $5000.00 – three counts
