The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with Ryan Reaves on a one-year contract extension.
Terms of the deal were not immediately announced.
Reaves, who earlier this month was acquired by the Rangers from the Vegas Golden Knights for a third-round pick, played in 37 games for the Golden Knights last season. The 37-year-old scored one goal and added four assists, while leading the NHL in hits per 60 minutes of ice time. The 34-year-old skated in 37 post-season games for Vegas in 2020-21, a run that saw the Golden Knights advance to the Stanley Cup semifinals.
A veteran of 686 NHL games, Reaves' career included stops with St. Louis and Pittsburgh before Vegas. Since his first NHL season in 2010-11, Reaves ranks third in the NHL in hits with 2,322 and has helped his team advance to the Stanley Cup Playoffs each of the last 10 seasons.
