COLDBROOK, N.S. — The provincial government is partnering with municipalities in Kings County to provide upgrades to wastewater, water, and sidewalk infrastructure.
Kings County Mayor Peter Muttart speaks at an April 29 event in Coldbrook where more than $3.216 million in provincial funding for upgrades to the regional wastewater system was announced. Infrastructure is aging and needs replacing.
The replacement of about 2.7 km of regional sewer mains between Kentville and New Minas with new PVC pipe is expected to cost about $6.4 million. Wolfville Mayor Wendy Donovan discusses upgrades to drinking water infrastructure in the town that will be supported through a $621,023 investment from the provincial government’s Municipal Capital Growth Program. With residential development planned for the town, over the coming decade, the number of permanent residents could double.
