Province appoints hospital to manage Kitchener long-term care home struggling to deal with COVID-19 outbreak
As part of a Mandatory Management Order put in place by the provincial government on Tuesday, St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener has been appointed to take over operations at Forest Heights Revera long-term care home for the next 90 days.
"The safety and well-being of residents and staff in long-term care have always been and will continue to be our number one priority," Long-Term Care Minister Merrilee Fullerton said in a written statement. Last month, an emergency order was put in place allowing the ministry of long-term care to install new management at homes struggling to deal with outbreaks of COVID-19.
