Two city council lors will push for Prince George administration to prepare an updated report on the potential cost of installing downtown public washroom s at the council meeting on Dec. 2. The motion is being brought forward by Coun. Tim Bennett and Coun. Trudy Klassen, emphasizing two options from a 2019 staff report: opening washrooms at Canada Games Plaza daily with staffing and cleaning, and improving access at downtown service providers with a one-time grant.
The councillors also request staff to compile a list of current downtown washrooms, compare availability with other municipalities, and include questions about public washroom access in future surveys. They aim to apply for grants and lobby for increased funding for bathrooms
