VANCOUVER — British Columbia Premier David Eby says he heard"devastating" accounts of antisemitism from the Jewish community and has vowed to work together to"root out" the problem.
"If you have had experiences like this, bring forward your concerns," Eby said."It will be investigated and they will be addressed, and we will root out these issues." "We appreciate the first step taken by the premier today," the group's letter said."Now he must make amends for the harms he has caused and address the alarming increase in antisemitism in B.C. with concrete action."
Robinson resigned from her post as the minister of post-secondary education last month after saying modern Israel was founded on"a crappy piece of land" in late January. Eby has said he disagreed with Robinson's characterization of what she saw, but said Friday that the accounts provided by Jewish leaders were so serious that they must be addressed.
