Police were called to check on the occupants of a residence on West Atlantic Avenue in Middle Township where officers discovered the deaths, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

In a statement, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said, “this tragic incident was not a random act of violence but appears to have been a murder/suicide,” and the investigation continued. Authorities did not release the names of the people who died or provide more details on the incident. The exact location of the crime scene was not disclosed.Anyone with information was asked to call the prosecutor’s office at 609-465-1135 or township police at 609-465-8700.
