The Panthers open the AUS playoffs against the Dalhousie Tigers at MacLauchlan Arena on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.

UPEI Panthers centre Lexie Murphy, 77, of Kensington, looks to work her way around some close checking by the St. Francis Xavier X-Women. The action took place in an Atlantic University Sport Women’s Hockey Conference game at MacLauchlan Arena in Charlottetown earlier this season. - Janessa Hogan/Special to SaltWire NetworkCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — It’s a feeling fourth-year centre Lexie Murphy and the UPEI Panthers’ veterans have not forgotten.

What we have to do to play a full 60 minutes.”As host of the 2022 U Sports national women’s hockey championship, that loss did not spell the end of UPEI’s season. But, this year, the Panthers do not have that luxury.

“It was a really good regular season in my mind,” said first-year Panthers head coach Sean Fisher. “The group made really good strides forward. Fisher does not expect anything to change in the post-season. He noted that with the AUS so competitive, there are no easy opponents.
