The Army’s 11th Airborne Division Arctic Angels on Tuesday celebrated the anniversary of the division’s activation in Alaska with Angel Rendezvous Week activities at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richards in Anchorage and Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks.

Capt. Alexander Banks watched paratroopers jump from a CH-47 Chinook helicopter with his daughters Alyssia, 5, and Alaina, 7, as families had the opportunity to watch airborne operations at Malemute Drop Zone on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Tuesday. While packing up his parachute, Staff Sgt. Austin Cattera said, “Chinook jumps are like the hidden gem of jumps when it comes to airborne operations.”
