This is how much money Pennsylvania residents think they need to be happy.
First, they sent out a survey to 1,200 respondents — whose average age was 40 — across the country asking them questions about how much money they would need to be “satisfied,” and what sacrifices they’d make “to make their money go further.” Researchers additionally included publicly available wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to compare respondents’ desired income against actual income across 15 different industries.
However, back to that desired income versus actual income tidbit, the study further found that Keystone State residents would need, on average, 149 percent more money to be satisfied. This ranked them amongst the top 20 states with the most expensive percentage needed to become “happier.”
