He was well-known as one of the founders and supporters of triathlon in P.E.I. The standard triathlon event of the TriLobster Triathlon was named in Robertson's honour after he died from complications due to ALS in July. Events included various triathlon formats, duathlons and aquabike formats — a race that features swimming and biking but no running.
Standard triathlon athletes completed a three-leg race, including a swim, run and a bike ride, during the TriLobster Triathlon in Summerside on Sunday Aug. 28. Athletes praised the flat, fast course. - Kyle Reid Six events served as qualifiers for world championships, including the 2023 Multisport World Championship in Ibiza, Spain, the 2023 Sprint and Relay Championship in Hamburg, Germany and the 2023 World Triathlon Championship Final in Pontevedra, Spain.
