Police in Oshawa, Ontario, are investigating the city's eleventh homicide of the year after a 29-year-old man was shot and killed.
Durham Region al Police responded to a call for gunshots at 1040 Cedar Street, north of Wentworth Street West, at approximately 2 p.m. and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived. In a news release issued Wednesday afternoon, investigators identified the victim as 29-year-old Oshawa resident Dennis Binda. He is the city’s 11th homicide victim of 2024.
No suspect description has been released, but police say they believe the shooting was isolated and there is no risk to public safety.“It’s supposed to be a joyous time of the year, and we’re here, unfortunately, investigating the 11th deceased party of the year within Durham Region.”,
