If there’s a third thing you can always count on from Ford, it’s that he’ll point to “efficiencies” as the magic elixir to fix whatever ails the city he lives in. It’s not always good advice to compare government finances to a household budget, as much as politicians like Doug Ford love to do it. But if you want to think in those terms, imagine your rent was $5,000 and your monthly income was $3,000. There’s no amount of coupon clipping or going to Walmart for haircuts that’s going to allow you to close that gap. You don’t have a spending problem, you have a revenue problem.“Ford to City: Drop Dead” offers a clear message to those running for mayor.
