In a poll conducted by Pollara Strategic Insights, on behalf of News Media Canada in May 2022, 90% of respondents said they believe it is important for local media to survive, and 79% of respondents agreed that the web giants must share their revenues with the Canadian media. And 80% of support Parliament passing a law that would let smaller outlets negotiate collectively with the web giants.
